I'll be in Edinburgh next week for the Edinburgh Festival of the Sacred Arts. In the Canongate Kirk, I'll be introducing live performances of six new works by young Scottish composers and talking about the experience of creating new sacred music. The Sacred Arts Festival as a whole is a remarkable set of events, embracing many artistic disciplines, in lovely historical venues. The beautiful city of Edinburgh in these August weeks is such a crazy maelstrom of events; making this carefully considered, peacefully home-grown series a particularly welcome prospect.
